Recently, after years of advocacy, members of the BCPA have been able to submit a proposal to the government to include psychologists in primary care. We are proud to  share the executive summary of the proposal. This proposal is the cumulative effort put into many presentations, meetings, and letters. By placing psychologists into primary care, we are hoping to not only help many patients by meeting them where they go for help, but also to reduce physician burnout, save the healthcare system money, and overall streamline the mental health triage system in addition to advocating for a more fair wage for psychologists in the healthcare system.
